Faculty Advisor Program
The MyMusicLab Faculty Advisor Program is a peer-to-peer mentoring program that partners experienced MyMusicLab users with new and potential users to further enhance their knowledge, skill and understanding of how to successfully integrate MyMusicLab in the classroom. Our Faculty Advisors (FAs) are committed to advancing the support for online learning and sharing their best practices with the MyMusicLab community.

- John Anderson
- Music Department Coordinator and Director of Choral Activities
Polk State College
MyMusicLab - Professor John Anderson is currently in his 7th year as Music Department Coordinator and Director of Choral Activities at Polk State College in Winter Haven. At Polk State College he has been awarded the Mid-Florida Endowed Teaching Chair 2010-11 and the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Award 2009 for excellence in teaching.
- Anderson is a fourth generation Floridian. He was an honor graduate of Florida Southern College where he was named Outstanding Graduate in Music. He received his Master of Music in Choral Literature and Conducting from the University of South Florida. He has pursued additional studies toward a doctoral degree in educational leadership with an emphasis on educational technology from NOVA Southeastern University. He is a member of the American Choral Director's Association, The National Association for Music Education, The Florida Music Educators Association, and The Florida Vocal Association.
- In his over 30 years of professional music, Mr. Anderson has appeared throughout Florida as a conductor, vocal soloist, clinician, and keyboardist in schools, churches, theme parks, television and recordings. Choirs under his baton have been featured in performances in Carnegie Hall in New York, Washington D.C., and numerous nationally released television specials and recordings. Prior to coming to Polk State College, he served for eight years as a Conductor and Guest Talent Coordinator for Walt Disney World Entertainment, four years as Minister of Music and Worship Technology at the First Baptist Church of Bartow, and taught choral music in Polk County Schools for twenty-seven years.
- Anderson feels that it is essential that those who are teaching musicians also to be working professionals. He maintains an active performance schedule both individually and with his wife Margaret.

- Dennis de Jong
- Music Program Coordinator
Johnston Community College
MyMusicLab - Before coming to reside in Raleigh, North Carolina, Dennis de Jong held the position of Principal Trumpet with Orquesta Sinfonica de Nuevo Leon of Mexico, and 2nd trumpet with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra of Alabama. Mr. de Jong has also performed nationally with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Erie Philharmonic, Chattanooga Symphony and Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, among others. Summer engagements have included participation in the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra, Ash Lawn-Highland Opera Orchestr
- Earning his M.M. from the Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and his B.M. from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in Houston, Texas, Mr. de Jong studied with George Vosburgh, James Wilt, and Armando Ghitalla, as well as spending three summers under the tutelage of Ray Mase and Chris Gekker. Currently, Mr. de Jong performs regionally as a member of Carolina Brass and the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle. Additionally, he freelances regularly with the North Carolina Symphony, NC Opera, North Carolina Theater, Broadway Series South and the Tar River Philharmonic. Mr. de Jong can be heard on variety of recordings and as part of a PBS feature Joy of the Season, with the Raleigh Master Chorale. A dedicated educator, Mr. de Jong has held teaching positions at St. Augustine's College and Campbell University, serves often as a guest clinician, and most recently has been appointed Music Program Coordinator at Johnston Community College in Smithfield, North Carolina.

- Erin Walker
- Lecturer in World Music
University of Kentucky
MyMusicLab - Erin Walker is a lecturer in World Music at the University of Kentucky. Her undergraduate and graduate degrees are from Northern Illinois University and DePaul University respectively, and she holds a Doctoral of Musical Arts Degree from the University of Kentucky. Erin has taught courses in music appreciation, jazz history, Asian music, African percussion, and the history of rock at the University of Kentucky and was a temporary instructor at Northern Illinois University in the summer of 2007. She has also been on the teaching faculty at the Bands of America World Percussion Summer Symposium, the Yamaha Sounds of Summer Drum Camp, and the Birch Creek Music Center. As a percussionist with an extensive background in world music, Erin's diverse musical interests have allowed her to travel to Korea, Trinidad, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Thailand, Canada, Croatia, and throughout the United States. She has recorded for Honeyrock Publications and Alfred Publications, and is a founding member of the nief-norf project, a contemporary percussion ensemble. In Lexington, Erin is the director of the Central Music Academy, a non-profit music program that gives free music lessons to financially disadvantaged children.
